White Marsh is located at 8906 Telegraph Road. The building is now the headquarters of Town and Country Landscaping, Inc.

On April 23, 1861 he voted for secession at Accotink and later enlisted as a private in Company F (the old Fairfax Company), Sixth Virginia Cavalry. He also served with the Signal Corps for the Confederacy. Private Marders died at his home in Fairfax County on October 14, 1867.
