The NSDAR Memorial Fountain

Here follows the inscription written on this roadside memorial:

The Memorial Fountain in this garden rededicated on June 2, 1967 by The Mount Vernon Chapter National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution on the occasion of the Dedication of tavern square the fountain was previously located at the corner of Fairfax and Cameron Streets and relocated on this site by the developer of Tavern Square, Eugene Simpson & Bro., Inc.

Erected 1967 by Mount Vernon Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

The Memorial Fountain Inscription:
Erected April 1, 1912 by the Mount Vernon Chapter D. A. R. in memory of the Colonial and Revolutionary events of the town of Alexandria, Virginia.

The Memorial Fountain:
The cannon in the center of the fountain is said to have been one of the cannons General Braddock brought to Alexandria in the French and Indian War.
