The Hughes Family Cemetery is a small family plot near 10400 Old Colchester Road (Route 611), which is adjacent to Mason Neck West Area Park and southwest of Giles Run. The cemetery is on a hillside, about 30 feet from the residence, and is partially bordered by a low iron pipe fence. The area is clean and periodically maintained.
The cemetery was surveyed in 1988, 1990 and 1997. In 1997, surveyors found at least six fieldstone markers in addition to the two inscribed gravestones and four footstones.
