Covert Family Cemetery

COVERT FAMILY CEMETERY
Between 7105 and 7107 Bonniemill Lane
Springfield, Virginia USA

Original Information from Volume 2 of the Gravestone Books

This densely overgrown cemetery is situated between 7105 and 7107 Bonniemill Lane at its intersection with Sterling Grove Drive in the Beverly Forest area of Springfield. There are no gravestones on the site which is surrounded by a chain link fence with gate. The trees and brush are so thick within the fence it was impossible to make out any burials when the cemetery was visited in September 1994. Yard clippings have been piled just inside of the fence.

When the cemetery was visited in 1973, the surveyor reported a wooden cross and a large boulder, but no marked graves. In 1989, the surveyor found “several sunken graves, but only three stone markers and one large boulder.” At one time, 25 grave depressions and a few fieldstones were reported.

Information on file in the Virginia Room of the Fairfax City Regional Library indicates that this cemetery may be the final resting place of Ida Mae Covert, James Covert, and Leola Covert.
