Brio Statue

Here follows an excerpt from the "Jaybird's Jottings" blog written by Jay Roberts:

Old Town Alexandria Historical Plaques: "Brio"

Today, we head for Market Square, where six different plaques mark the history of this well-known part of the city.

Our tour of Market Square starts on King Street, turns towards City Hall and the water fountains, walks up the steps, and stops to look at a piece of art under a tree. Brio is the work of the renowned sculptress Jimilu Mason, whose resume includes a marble bust of President Lyndon Johnson (Capitol Building) and Chief Justice Fred Vinson (Supreme Court).
