414-412 Prince Street
In 1850, William N. McVeigh bought a frame house on this site at public auction. Soon after the purchase, McVeigh had the small house demolished, and construction began on a pair of three-story brick houses. The Alexandria Gazette and Virginia Advertiser noted on April 3, 1852, "the large and commodious dwellings on Prince Street....have been finished and are now occupied.
